2KB Energy Services Joins DOE's ESPC Campaign as Supporting Partner

It’s also National ESCO Week —the Perfect Time to Announce This Partnership

2KB Energy Services is excited to announce that we have signed on to be a supporting partner for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) Campaign. This partnership is especially timely as we celebrate National ESCO Week, which recognizes the outstanding contributions made by Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) to the economy and the environment.

While 2KB is not an ESCO, we support the work that they do and strongly believe in the power of ESPCs to achieve our client’s operational and sustainability goals. 2KB is an Owner's Representative who helps clients with their ESPCs and facilitates the working relationship between the client and the ESCO. We are active members of NAESCO, the association that supports ESCOs and advocates for the responsible use of the powerful contracting vehicle that is an ESPC.

ESPCs are a type of performance contract that allows public building owners to finance energy efficiency upgrades without upfront costs. The ESCO guarantees that the building owner will save enough energy to pay for the cost of the upgrades over time. This is a win-win for everyone involved: the building owner saves money on their energy bills, the ESCO is paid for their services, and the environment benefits from reduced energy consumption.

The DOE's ESPC Campaign aims to help public building owners achieve $1 billion in measured and verified energy savings from ESPCs in the next 10 years. 2KB is committed to supporting this goal by providing our clients with the expert guidance and support they need to successfully implement ESPC projects.

Here are some of the ways that 2KB helps clients with their ESPCs:

  • We provide independent advice and counsel on ESPCs, helping clients to understand the benefits and risks of this type of contracting vehicle.

  • We help clients to develop and implement ESPC project plans that are tailored to their specific needs and goals.

  • We oversee the implementation of ESPC projects to ensure that they are completed on time and within budget.

  • We work with clients to monitor and verify energy savings over the life of the ESPC contract.

By partnering with 2KB, public building owners can be confident that they have the support they need to successfully implement ESPC projects and achieve significant energy savings.

We are proud to be a supporting partner of the DOE's ESPC Campaign and we look forward to working with our clients to achieve our shared goal of $1 billion in energy savings.
